Who We Are?
Layovi is a travel company built for one specific traveler: the traveler with time between flights who doesn’t want to spend it inside a terminal.
We specialize exclusively in private layover and stopover experiences, city tours that begin with an airport pickup and end with a return to the same airport, timed around a connecting flight rather than a conventional holiday schedule.
Layovi operates from the UAE, with offices in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, serving transit travelers across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Doha, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Singapore and Amsterdam.
How This Started?
Our journey in tourism began in 2014, long before Layovi existed, through destination focused travel brands including Dubai Day Tours and Abu Dhabi Sightseeing. Over more than a decade, we welcomed travelers from around the world and helped thousands of visitors experience the UAE through private, carefully planned sightseeing tours.
Somewhere along that journey, a pattern became impossible to ignore. Millions of people pass through major airport hubs every year with hours to spare between flights, yet many simply remain inside the terminal. Some don’t know where to start. Some are worried about traffic, or immigration lines, or simply running out of time. Most just assume a layover is dead time by definition, something to sit through rather than something to use.
We didn’t think it had to be that way. A five or six hour connection, planned properly, is enough to see a real city, not a rushed detour, but an actual introduction to a place most travelers would otherwise only see from a departure lounge window.
That gap between what a layover could be and what it usually is became the reason Layovi exists.
Built on More Than a Decade of Getting This Right
Layovi launched in 2026, but the operational experience behind it goes back more than 12 years. Since 2014, the team behind Layovi has run tourism operations across Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Muscat, Jeddah and Istanbul, serving hundreds of transit travelers annually as part of our wider tourism operations.
That experience taught us things no business plan could. How airport procedures affect the time available outside the terminal. Which routes remain practical during busy periods and which can quickly become risky. And how a tour needs to be adjusted when a flight arrives late.
Across more than 12 years of operations, our team has not had a connecting flight missed as a result of its tour operations. That experience is what allows us to treat layover travel as a specialty rather than simply adapting conventional tours to fit a connecting flight.
What Makes Layovi Different
Layovi is not a general tours marketplace, and we’re not trying to be one.
We focus only on airport based travel experiences designed around transit timing, which means every itinerary starts from a traveler’s departure time and works backward from there, not forward from a generic start time that assumes everyone has the same hours to spare.
Our tours are private by default, so the itinerary can be adjusted around a delayed flight instead of leaving someone waiting at a fixed meeting point that no longer matches their day. And because a missed connection isn’t a minor inconvenience on a layover, it’s the one thing that has to be protected, every Layovi booking includes our Missed Connection Protection program, an added layer of protection for the rare case where a flight is placed at risk directly because of our own tour operations.
We believe this kind of specialization is what actually produces quality. A company trying to be everything to every traveler rarely gets the details right for any one of them. We’d rather be very good at this one thing.

Layovi is part of the tourism operations built by the team behind Abu Dhabi Sightseeing and Dubai Day Tours, under DG Holidays. That background includes years of direct, hands on work with international visitors, with established operations reviewed by travelers across TripAdvisor and Google. Abu Dhabi Sightseeing has also received the TripAdvisor Travellers’ Choice 2026 award.
Layovi also maintains its own official presence across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest and TikTok, with original photography from real tours, airport pickups, vehicles, guides and guest experiences.
