Tour Itinerary

Private Airport Pickup

Your Hong Kong Transit Tour begins at Hong Kong International Airport, where your private driver meets you and takes you directly into Hong Kong Island. The journey from Hong Kong airport to SHEUNG WAN takes you away from the airport and toward one of the city’s oldest urban districts. With private transportation throughout the airport transfers, the route is designed around your connection time, allowing you to experience local Hong Kong without wasting valuable time arranging transport between different parts of the city.

Arriving in Sheung Wan

Your sightseeing experience begins in Sheung Wan, a district where traditional Hong Kong remains visible among the city’s modern streets. Walking through the area reveals old shops, Chinese medicine stores, food businesses and narrow streets that have retained much of their local character. This is where the tour changes from an airport transfer into a walking experience, with your local guide taking you through several closely connected parts of historic Hong Kong.

Traditional Dim Sum Experience

Start the walking portion of the tour with a traditional Dim Sum experience. Rather than treating lunch as simply a meal during the tour, this is an opportunity to experience one of Hong Kong’s established food traditions. Depending on the restaurant and service available, you may see bamboo steamers filled with different small dishes and, at traditional restaurants, the distinctive trolley service moving between the tables. The busy atmosphere, shared dishes and variety of flavours make Dim Sum an important part of experiencing local Hong Kong culture.

Dried Seafood Street

Continue into the streets known for their dried seafood and traditional food shops. Storefronts display dried seafood, herbs and ingredients associated with Chinese cooking and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Walking through this area gives you a different view of Hong Kong’s food culture, one based on ingredients and specialist shops rather than restaurants designed primarily for tourists. Your guide can explain the purpose of the products you see and how these traditional businesses fit into everyday life in the city.

PoHo and the Back Streets of Sheung Wan

From the traditional shops, continue through PoHo, an area of narrow streets, older buildings, small businesses and contemporary creative spaces. The neighbourhood provides an interesting contrast between old and new Hong Kong. As you walk through the back streets, your local guide can bring attention to the area’s earlier history, including periods when disease outbreaks and difficult living conditions shaped life in this part of the city. The stories behind the streets add context to what you are seeing rather than turning the visit into a simple collection of photographs.

Man Mo Temple

Continue to Man Mo Temple on Hollywood Road, one of the most recognizable historic buildings in the district. Founded in the nineteenth century, the temple is dedicated to Man, the god of literature, and Mo, the god of war. Inside, large hanging incense coils create a distinctive atmosphere above the worshippers and visitors. This stop gives you an opportunity to see one of Hong Kong’s traditional places of worship while remaining within the compact walking route through Sheung Wan and the surrounding historic district.

Hollywood Road

Leave the temple and continue along Hollywood Road, one of the historic streets connecting the old neighbourhoods of Hong Kong Island. The area is known for antique shops, Chinese artwork and traditional objects, with modern galleries appearing alongside businesses that have been part of the district for generations. Walking along the road allows you to browse the shopfronts and see how Hong Kong’s traditional trading culture now exists alongside its contemporary art scene.

Cat Street and Upper Lascar Row

The final sightseeing stop is Cat Street, officially known as Upper Lascar Row. The market is known for antiques, curios, vintage objects and Chinese decorative pieces. Even if you are not planning to buy anything, walking through the stalls provides a fitting end to the Old Hong Kong experience. It also gives you time to browse at your own pace and pick up a small souvenir before leaving the historic district.

Private Return to Hong Kong Airport

After Cat Street, your guide leads you back to your private vehicle for the return journey to Hong Kong International Airport. Because this is a private Hong Kong Transit Tour, the experience is organized around your flight connection rather than a fixed group schedule. Your airport transfer and sightseeing are combined into one route, allowing you to discover Sheung Wan, experience traditional Dim Sum, walk through the dried seafood district, explore PoHo, visit Man Mo Temple and finish along Hollywood Road and Cat Street before returning to the airport for your onward flight.
